Pulling from various worlds of their musical influences, Hannah Lee curates this three-part remix series to recontextualize their left-field ambient/dance EP Transiciones for a whole new audience, launching each track as a single to fully give each artist the attention they deserve.

On January 26th we dropped the first remix of the series; a bouncy, ethereal banger by Hermetics of the track Güera. Hermetics transforms the original - a mystical and optimistic exploration of electric organ textures and glitchy beats - into a unique combination of lush synths and punchy rhythms, maintaining the track's uniqueness while formally suiting it for the dancefloor.

On February 29th we celebrated the leap year with Mala Fama’s rework of the track 818, where he flips the innocent sonic textures of the original by mixing in noisy breakbeat drums to a different BPM alongside a powerful sax solo by Luis Sigüenza to give it a totally chaotic twist that feels just right for 2024.

On March 21st, we’ll be releasing the final remix of the series. PVSSY, one of the biggest names of Ecuador's infamous club scene, reimagines the track Healing, mutating the original soundscape of lighthearted electric organ glitches and loops to bring it into the sonic realm of guaracha / latin core, taking the current uwu club trend to a whole new level.

The original EP Transiciones that these remixes are based on is a compact yet eclectic expression of personal triumph in trying times. The five tracks that it consists of are based on melodic explorations and technical “mistakes” with electric organs, alongside glitchy beats made by built-in keyboard drum machines, field recordings, white noise, and other sounds made by mistake or on purpose throughout the clumsy, messy process of creation.
